[edit] Welcome
Hello,
My name is Jesse. I am a PHP software developer by trade. Unix/Linux systems are my specialty. For over a year now, I have had a strong active interest in photography. I shoot with a Nikon D80 SLR and a very nice 18-200mm Nikkor VR lens. I am a stock photographer and a fine art and portrait photographer. As a confirmed adrenaline junky, I toy with the idea of one day becoming a photojournalist.
I am an active mailing list user and member of Chugalug (Chattanooga Linux Users Group). You can probably learn a lot about me by Googling my name and reading some of the thousands of emails I've written during my career.
[edit] My Blog
|
This page is the public face of my various hobbies and personal projects. It's not a blog. I don't gripe about work to the great void here. I have a separate account for that. :)

[edit] Open Source Development
I'm a big fan of Open Source. Exploring, installing, and using open source software a great past time. As a developer, digging through Open Source code is a great way to learn about computing and software development practices.

[edit] Kagu
I'm the Founder and Lead Developer for the Kagu Media Player project.

After I bought my Nokia n800 in 2007, Kagu was one itch I absolutely had to scratch. Kagu is all about exploring UI interaction on a touch screen. I started working on it a few months before the iPhone was announced, then I realized that the iPhone commercializes a lot of the ideas I initially had for Kagu. Still, it's a very nice media player, which is probably why it's consistently the most downloaded 3rd party application on Maemo.org.
[edit] Music
|
Yeah, I like music. Who doesn't? I'm typically into angry white boy music, but I don't like the really hard stuff. I use Last.FM, so you can check out what I listen to on the left.
[edit] Lists
I'm also a listmaker. Here are a few that you might find useful:
